The GE IS220PPRAH1A is an Emergency Turbine Backup Protection I/O Module under the Mark VIeS Series, designed for GE Distributed Turbine Control Systems. As a critical safety component, it forms an independent triple modular redundant (TMR) backup overspeed protection system—paired with the TREA terminal board and WREA option board—to safeguard turbines.
- Backup Protection & Redundancy: Operates as a TMR system (requires 3 PPRA packs on TREA/WREA) for reliable overspeed protection, preventing single/dual-pack failures. Adds 6-speed inputs for dual-speed sensors per shaft.
- Technical Specifications: Runs on 24 V DC (≤15 W power), with 16 input channels (0-5 V) and 2 transducers. Supports 1.5 Hz pressure wave frequency, 2 Hz MPU pulse rate, and Modbus TCP/IP.
- Compatibility & Connectivity: Mounts exclusively to TREA terminal boards with WREA option board. Dual 10/100 Ethernet ports enable flexible network links.
- Reliability & Diagnostics: High-speed processor, hardware watchdog, internal temp sensor, and status LEDs. Soft-start power control limits inrush current.
