The TU811V1 3BSE013231R1, a new 8-channel, 250 V compact Module Termination Unit (MTU) designed for the S800 I/O family within the ABB Ability™ System 800xA®. This passive unit serves as a critical interface, connecting field wiring to I/O modules while forming an integral part of the ModuleBus communication network.

The TU811V1 enhances system reliability and simplifies installation by distributing the ModuleBus signal to the connected I/O module and the next MTU in the rack. It also generates the correct address for the I/O module by shifting position signals, ensuring accurate module identification and communication.

A key feature of the TU811V1 is its mechanical keying system, which uses two keys with six positions each, allowing for 36 unique configurations. This system physically prevents the insertion of incorrect I/O modules, safeguarding against misconfiguration and potential system errors.

Key Features and Benefits:

Compact Design: Enables high-density installation of I/O modules, saving panel space.

High Channel Density: Provides termination for up to 8 isolated field signal channels.

Secure Connection: Integrates connections for both ModuleBus and I/O modules.

Preventive Keying: Mechanical keying ensures only the designated I/O module type can be installed.

Robust Mounting: Features a latching device for secure DIN rail mounting and grounding.

Wide Compatibility: Designed for use with popular S800 I/O modules including DI820, DI821, DO820, and DO821.

Technical Specifications:

The TU811V1 ( 3BSE013231R1) supports wire sizes from 0.2 to 4 mm² (solid) and 0.2 to 2.5 mm² (stranded, 24-12 AWG). It is rated for voltages up to 250 V and features a dielectric test voltage of 2000 V a.c. It operates reliably in temperatures from 0 to +55 °C (+32 to +131 °F) and is built to meet stringent international standards for electrical safety (EN/UL 61010-1), EMC (EN 61000-6-2, -4), and environmental conditions (IEC/EN 61131-2). The unit is also certified by major marine classification societies.
